Northstone Insurance Completes Acquisition of Eight Agencies Across Three States

ANN ARBOR, MI — Northstone Insurance Group, a growing tech-enabled insurance brokerage, has announced the successful acquisition of eight independent insurance agencies across Michigan, Texas, and Louisiana, marking a significant expansion of its national footprint.

While financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed, the acquisitions reinforce Northstone’s mission to blend deep local agency expertise with the resources, scale, and technology of a national platform. All eight agencies will now operate under the Northstone brand.

“These are high-quality firms with strong leadership and a proven track record in their markets,” said Michael Granger, CEO of Northstone Insurance Group. “By bringing them into the Northstone family, we’re not only extending our geographic reach—we’re expanding the breadth and depth of the services we can offer our clients.”

Each of the acquired agencies brings specialized knowledge in commercial insurance, personal lines, and employee benefits, strengthening Northstone’s capabilities across key markets.

In keeping with its commitment to shared success, Northstone will include all employees from the newly acquired firms in its Employee Purpose Plan, a company-wide equity incentive program designed to ensure that every team member participates in the long-term value they help create.

“We believe ownership should extend across the organization. Our Employee Purpose Plan allows everyone—at every level—to share in the growth we’re building together,” Granger added.

“This is about scale with substance,” said Granger. “We’re not just looking to grow for growth’s sake—we’re building a connected, high-integrity network of professionals who share our values of service, leadership, ownership, and integrity.”

Northstone is focused on building a collaborative culture across its expanding network. New teams will benefit from shared tools, resources, and operational support—while still maintaining their trusted client relationships and community presence.

Technology-Enabled Expansion

At the core of Northstone’s national strategy is its proprietary Lead Nexus platform—a technology suite powered by artificial intelligence that enables:

  • Smarter client acquisition

  • Predictive analytics

  • Optimized cross-sell and upsell strategies

  • Streamlined partner and client onboarding

The platform provides newly acquired agencies with an immediate digital advantage, allowing them to scale operations without compromising on client service.

“Lead Nexus gives our partners the power to be proactive, not just reactive,” Granger explained. “With AI-driven insights and automation, we help our teams focus more on advising clients and less on manual processes.”

Looking Ahead

With the completion of these eight acquisitions, Northstone significantly enhances its capabilities in commercial lines, high-net-worth personal lines, and employee health benefits—while building a stronger presence across the Upper Midwest, Texas, and Louisiana.

Granger emphasized that the company will continue to look for acquisition partners that align with its culture and mission.

“We’re always interested in talking to agency owners who believe in creating long-term value—not just for shareholders, but for employees, clients, and communities,” he said.
